Day 2 – Boston

I’m sitting in my bed at Hostelling International Boston right now and am picking up some kind of wireless signal. Today’s weather was about the same as yesterday: cold, wind, and rain. The first stop was the New England Aquarium. Unfortunately, all the schools in Boston are not in session this week and the building was packed wall-to-wall with kids. But we did get to see some colorful fish as a break from the gray skies outside.

Afterward, Erick and I walked along a portion of the Freedom Trail, past Paul Revere’s house, old graveyards, and over a river, to the USS Constitution, which is a 210 year old war ship.

Then Erick had to drive back to Maine, so he dropped me off on the street near a subway station. From that moment I was on my own and I realized I didn’t know how to even get to the place I was staying. Luckily, I was able to find a good spot to pull out my computer and find directions.

Checked in to my room, and then walked over to the Museum of Fine Arts, which is free on Wednesday nights. And that’s a day!
