I started off the day with a $5 all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at a nearby hotel. Even though it was going to be a hot day, I decided to rent a bike and ride it around the area again. My first stop was the east gate of Angkor Wat, then Prasat Kravan, then Bat Chum, then Banteay Kdei (again), and then Ta Prohm<\/a> (they filmed Tomb Raider here), then Ta Keo<\/a>, then Tommanon and Chau Say Tevoda, then the east gate of Angkor Thom.<\/p>\n

Then I had the idea of riding my bike on the wall that surrounds all of Angkor Thom. It is pretty wide and there is a path up there, but no one using it. I ended up riding the north half of the wall (6km). I was surprised to see some stone buildings in the northeast and northwest corner because they aren’t on the maps. <\/p>\n

The wall was washed out a few times, but I was able to get around. Some local kids were nearby when I was riding alongside the wall in a section. There are rice paddies all around. One of the kids said “picture” and I took a couple then the kid said “camera fee.” Wow, this little girl knows some English alright. I paid a little bit. You have to be careful, buying too many things or giving too much money away makes these people very reliant on tourism.<\/p>\n

When I got to the west gate, it was a sleep decent down to the ground, and after pressing the breaks my bike flipped over a bit. But I was ok.  After I made my way to the next area, I noticed a hissing sound from my bike and found a leak in the rear tire. I hopped on my bike and rode it before it ran out of air. I made it to the Angkor Wat area and showed some people my problem and  they pointed me to a guy who will repair it and he did for $1.<\/p>\n

By this time it was in the middle of the afternoon and I was pretty hot, so I made it back to my room.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
