Today I went to the Vietnamese Consulate and was able to get a Vietnam Visa in my passport after about 15 minutes and $35. They explained it a little better than when I tried to get this in Beijing. I have to pick two dates which is the window for my Visa to be valid. So I picked 1/28/2008 through 2/30/2008.
I tried out an ATM here too. It was funny because it gave me US Dollars ($10’s and $20’s, and $50’s). It was a good test to see what kind of fees I’d see internationally, but I checked my bank account and I didn’t get charged anything extra. I think I might get charged a bit for exchanging into another currency, but if it is just US Dollars I can withdrawal it the same here as I can at home.
I tried out some Cambodian restaurants today. One had a menu, another didn’t have any menu and they didn’t speak any English. After a while they found someone else to help and I was able to order some noodles for $1.
